This week Radcliffe AC is preparing to host its annual trail race, the Thirteen Arches Half Marathon on Saturday 1 November 2025 at 9:30am, starting from Sedgley Park Rugby Club. The scenic route follows the Outwood Trail through Philips Park, Drinkwater Park, and Prestwich Clough. Last year’s event drew over 200 runners of all abilities, and the club looks forward to another strong turnout this year. Sunday saw podium places for the club, with Khama Banda finishing in first place at Heaton Park Run Through 5k in a phenomenal time of 18:07, with junior Seth also taking second place in the junior distance of 1.2k.
At the inaugural Run For All Lincoln Half Marathon, passing through the heart of Lincoln and showcasing the impressive castle and cathedral, Kath Biddle achieved a personal best of 1:54:15.
Over in Bridlington, Emma Wolstencroft took on the breezy and blustery 10k Yorkshire Coast Trail 10k, finishing in 1:07:26.
Gary Adkins put in another stellar performance at the Chester Marathon, finishing in an incredible time 2:57:36.
Also in Chester for the Metric Marathon, four Radcliffe ladies completed the Metric Marathon 26.6km distance. Chemane Thomas was the first over the line in 2:22:45, followed by Elaine Bailey (2:47:48), Helen Kay (3:26:50) and Bev Quinton (3:57:11).
For something a little different, as part of an art installation set up by member Neil Greenhalgh, walkers and runners registered for the ‘On Yer Marks Hill Race’ on Thursday evening, with their own choice of starting time and route. Melissa Day reached the Winter Hill Trig point by 10:08 on Friday morning, winning an original oil painting of the summit of Winter Hill.
