This Wednesday, Kath Biddle raced at Morecambe Music 10k, a scenic out and back along Station Promenade with a unique medal and chip barm for all finishers, finishing in a personal best for the distance of 48:57.
At Clarence Park on Saturday, Paul Stevens celebrated his 25th parkrun milestone in a time of 24:11, joined by speedy teammates Khama Banda (first overall) (19:43), Chris Mihalyi (23:02) and Mark Taylor (24:13). This was also the second anniversary for Clarence parkrun.
Over at Hope Valley on Sunday, Emma Horner completed the RunThrough Ladybower Reservoir 22k Trail Race in a time of 02:15:29, along with Karen Doherty in 02:41:43. Starting in Hope Village, this picturesque route headed up Win Hill, through Hope Valley, down into the forest and along the riverside rolling paths to the Thornhill Trail, and finally back through Aston.
20 members also attended Worsley Woods 5 Mile Trail Race held by Swinton Running Club, the latest in both the club championship and Central Lancashire Grand Prix. This course through Salford's largest conservation area ran along the lake at Old Warke Dam, down the Bridgewater canal and through Worsley Woods covering trail, woodlands and sections of path.
Steven Fawcett was the first to finish for the club in an impressive 32:09, followed by Michael Kontowtt (36:16), Mark Williams (36:23), Mark Garner (36:32), Paul Stevens (37:56), Dominic Parry (39:44), Kath Biddle (41:38), Lucie Tighe (42:13), Lisa Antrobus (42:13), Ethan Malone (42:17), David Schofield 45:54), John Szubert (46:29), Elaine Bailey (48:54), Cath Jones (50:46), Gail Harrison (53:06), Tracy Wroe (57:29), Sara Parry (1:02:24), Bev Quinton (1:03:24), Michael Scott (1:03:25) and Andy Wheeler (1:05:43).
