Laura Aiken headed to Ambleside this Saturday for the Lakeland Trails Ultra. Despite the scorching temperatures and around 2000m of elevation, she cranked out this 55k challenging course through mountain scenery in 12:45:13. 2025 has been an exceptional year for Aiken who has gone from strength to strength. Never one to shy away from a new challenge, this latest feat was no exception.
On Sunday, Kath Biddle also battled the heat over at the North Downs 50k Ultra in Surrey, supporting her sister in her first ultra. The ‘Blister Sisters’ completed the challenge in 8:20:17, running over the Surrey Hills and along the North Downs Way.
John Szubert ran the Towneley 10k over in Burnley which returned for its second year. Racing through the grounds of Towneley Park, Szubert finished in 01:07:36.
Starting and finishing at Cheshire Country Sports Club just outside of the city center, RunThrough offered several race distances along closed country roads around Hoole Bank, Picton and Wervin in Cheshire.
Stephen Crowe completed the 10k event in 1:03:00.
Junior Seth whizzed round the 1.2km junior race in an impressive time of 4:30.
