Grand Prix run at Rivington

A trio of runners represented Radcliffe Athletic Club at the latest Central Lancashire Grand Prix fixture.

Rob Shiels was the club’s first finisher, and 37th overall, at the Horwich Jubilee Race in Rivington. He clocked 37:17 on the popular 5.4-mile course which was slightly longer than usual due to a road closure.

Karen Doherty ran 50:51 on the two-lap course while Elaine Bailey finished in 54:24.

The Central Lancashire Grand Prix is a series of ten races which is hosted and contested by local clubs. Radcliffe will hold its race on Saturday September 17; it starts at Sedgley Park Rugby Club, Whitefield, at 9.30am, and there will be a cake sale and tombola in aid of Brain Tumour Research. People can book online.
