About the Club

Radcliffe Athletic Club meets on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7 – 8.30pm at Riverside School (Old Coney Green School), Radcliffe, M26 2SZ every week (Apart from Bank Holidays).

There is a choice of training sessions to participate in from beginners through to competition racing. Each club evening is split into a training run, speed work or circuit training within the gym. All abilities are welcome.

Showers and changing available. The subs are minimal and if you like the sessions, become a member!

Beginners/Returning back to running

Radcliffe Athletic Club now offer a beginners / return to running group, this is designed to get people running in a safe structured format or back into running after a prolonged absence.

The group will always be supported by a qualified England Athletics Leadership in Running Fitness coach, which enables newcomers to feel comfortable with people at or about their own abilities. There is no need to worry about the speed or pace of the group as each session will be tailored towards the group present.

The group will run off the road where possible to enable easier group running and to develop the individuals running skills and confidence.

As they develop individuals can then progress to running with other groups within the club on Monday’s and Wednesday’s, if they wish.

If you’re out running by yourself or with a friend, give us a try for 2 weeks, after that we would require you to take up our club membership which would then cover you from an insurance perspective via England Atletics. The nightly fee is £1.50 and the yearly membership fee is £15, as agreed at the Annual General Meeting in January. The optional England Athletics membership is £12 as decided at their AGM.

If you require any further information contact Chris at smilersav@hotmail.co.uk or turn up at Riverside School (Coney Green) opposite Radcliffe Metrolink just before 7pm, the training group will leave at 7.05pm prompt.
