Radcliffe AC’s Lisa Carter travelled to the Lake District for the challenging 11.5-mile Newlands Memorial Fell Race.

With around 3,609ft of climbing, the course covers the peaks of Robinson, Hindscarth, Dale Head, High Spy and Cat Bells.

In sweltering conditions, Carter felt dizzy and sick approaching Cat Bells but had a ‘great day’, finishing in 3hrs, 22mins and 05secs.

Eight runners faced hot and sunny conditions at the popular Salford 10k on Good Friday. Ian Warrington was first across the line for Radcliffe in 42:50 followed by Katie Percival who ran 43:58; Amanda Callan 49:25, and Peter Cook 49:26.

Sheila Jones clocked 50:12 to finish second Vet 60; Amanda Hey ran 53:10; Deborah Warrington 01:04:31, and Vince Ashton 01:05:01.

Eleven Radcliffe runners were among the 409-strong field at Rivington Pike fell race on Saturday, one of the oldest in the country.

A lung-bursting 3.2 miles with 699 feet of climbing, Robert Short finished 47th in 22:14 while Alan Sumner was third Vet 75 in 35:43.

Chris Paxton ran 23:42; Craig Norman 23:49; Paul Swyers 25:53; Katie Percival 27:16; Mark Wolfenden 31:12; David Schofield 35:16; Chris Fletcher 36:30; Iain Harris 39:32, and Andy Wheeler 42:43.

Sarah Oxley travelled to Staffordshire for the Chasewater Easter Egg 10k trail race. In scorching weather, she clocked 1.07:29 on the undulating, two-lap course around Chasewater reservoir and received a fun Easter egg-themed medal.

Ten were at the final race of the midweek Curley’s 5k Race Trail Series in Horwich. Lee Cooper led Radcliffe home in 22:59, finishing 20th overall at the end of the three-race series,

Elaine Bailey ran the challenging course in 31:07, claiming second Vet 60 in the series. Also completing all three races were Kathryn Prince who ran 30:31; Karen Doherty 32:56; Sarah Rushton 33:50, and Tracy Wroe 36:11.

Other Radcliffe runners who also took part in the final race were Mark Garner who clocked 24:31; Dave Rushton 25:56; Andy Wheeler 34:34, and Iain Harris 35:34.

Park run tourist Vince Ashton notched up his 70th location, running 31:33 at Pendle, while Sheila Jones finished Fell Foot park run in the Lake District in 31:33.

At Lancaster park run, Mauro Rotondi ran 23:34 and Christine Berry 40:39.
Paul Barrington completed his 60th park run with a time of 23:45 at Bolton. It was the first running of Bolton’s re-vamped course and Lucy Tetler finished in 33:23; Andy Wheeler 33:40; Sarah Rushton 36:12, and Lucy Dewhurst 36:13.

Tracy Wroe headed to Heaton Park for her 40th park run, clocking 30:49, while junior Noah Barrington ran a personal best of 23:52.
