  • Coach Eileen back in action with clubmates at Bolton.

RADCLIFFE AC’s Mauro Rotondi won himself a silver medal when he ran a 50 mile ultra marathon.

He was taking part, along with two clubmates, in the L2M, the Liverpool to Manchester Ultra on Saturday, following the Trans Pennine Trail and the River Mersey. He clocked 9hrs 33mins putting him in 68th position and among the silver medalists. The first 50 runners won gold and then the runners finishing from 51st to 100th received silver.
Well pleased with his result he said conditions were perfect, dry and not too warm. Sinead Hayes, who is packing in a few ultras during the season, came home in a time of 10hrs 11mins and Lisa Carter 10hrs 14mins 36secs which put her in 114th position.
