Radclffe AC’s Neal Emmerson continued his good form to finish eighth in the Stockport 10 Mile Race.
He was the first of 12 runners home for the club on Sunday, clocking 56mins 50secs.
He was followed by Chris Whittaker who finished 34th in 1hr 01mins 41secs with Ian Warrington two places behind in 1hr 01mins 47secs.
Among the women, Kate Percival was 19th lady and 11th senior in 1hr 11mins 31secs. Jenny Yates was second Vet-50 in 1hr 13mins and 34secs and Sheila Jones claimed fourth Vet-60 in 1hr 23mins 11secs.
Also running were Lee Cooper, 1hr 14mins13secs; Dave Rushton, 1hr 15mins 29secs; Steve Hamer, 10th Vet-60 1hr 17mins 04secs; Caroline Mullineaux,1hr 23mins 59secs; Chris Fletcher, 1hr 27mins 55secs, and Peter Warr 1hr 40mins 08secs.
Three got into the festive spirit at the tough and hilly Longridge Xmas Pudding seven-mile race in Preston. Lisa Donnelly ran 1hr 20mins 20secs, Lucy Dewhurst 1hr 23mins 52 secs and Christine Berry 1hr 28mins and 28 secs. They received medals and Christmas puddings.
In the popular parkruns, Vince Ashton notched up his 62nd location at Wendover Woods in the Chiltern Hills, reputedly one of the toughest in the South.
He clocked 30mins 53secs despite falling on the muddy course.
Closer to home, Sheila Jones was second lady in 22mins 36secs at the Heaton parkrun Santa Dash. Nick Barnes ran 24mins 47secs; Junior Olivia Whittaker notched up her 11th consecutive pb in 27min 33secs; Peter Hunter, 29mins 05secs; Bev Quinton 34mins 07secs; Iain Harris, 34mins 08secs; junior Megan Peterkin, 39mins 07secs, and Sharon Peterkin, 39mins 12secs.
Paul Swyers ran 22min 49secs to finish 24th at Bolton parkrun.
