SIX Radcliffe AC members ran the 5k Bolton Parkrun on Saturday with Mark Williams coming home ninth overall out of 277 runners.

The vet-45 clocked a fine time of 20mins 05secs and Chemane Brier, taking part for the first time, clocked 24mins 48decs, bringing her in eighth woman.

Following Williams was Paul Swyers (V45) in 21mins 56secs. Ken Smith (V55) ran 23mins 40secs: Paul Barrington clocked 25mins 58secs and Eileen Royle (V65) ran 26mins 41secs.

Club members helped out with the organising of the town’s Carnival Fun Run on Sunday and member Susanne ran the with her two sons and sister in-law Jancis Andrew who was second lady.  Jack  who is 10 has just recently started running with the club on a Wednesday and was third male in 22mins 45secs and received a trophy.  Although the event wasn’t  officially timed Susanne said volunteers did take some times and she thinks she and Harry, aged 7, came in just under 30mins. Harry sprinted from the start and it took her just over a mile to catch him!
